Reflection KLM

K-Know: What do you know before the reading?  I know that youth work was deficit focused for a long time. The programs that they had were failing for their youth.


L-Learn: What did you learn about the history and youth practice? I learned about vague topics while reading. I learned that their are three types of youth in the communities. Their are three influences on youth development. Also learned of the types of things that adolescents (9-14) do while they are awake.


M-More: What would you like to know about? I would like to know more about the deficit approach. I would also like to learn more traditional views of youth services. I would also like to know more about the shift from deficit to the youth development approach.
